Growing up in Southern Oregon I have always been enamored by the beauty and richness of the outdoor world. At times it was tough to find a good balance between sport and my love for the outdoors. Hunting and fishing have always played a big role in my life, helping keep my grounded and teaching me valuable lessons about life. Many of my closest friendships have revolved around the outdoors, this continued to blossom as my baseball career found me at Oregon State. My professional career has connected me with many like minded individuals as well. For me, bow hunting is the best way to find myself, and continue to learn about the animals I am so deeply passionate about. I have had the great fortune to harvest a handful of blacktail deer, two of which were mature bucks. In the time hunting these nocturnal deer, I have come to realize that while harvesting a mature deer is amazing, spending time outdoors and with good buddies is what makes it so enjoyable.

Hunting with KuduPoint
I noticed immediately that there was something different about the quality of Kudu heads. Out of the box they flew true with no tuning required for my set up. I was shooting groups as tight with these heads as I was with field tips. My first opportunity to harvest and animal with them was a blacktail buck at 45 yards. After a well placed shot I spent about 30 minutes looking for my arrow. To my surprise and pleasure, it was embedded in a tree about 40 yards from where the deer was standing. After retrieving the arrow I realized the head looked brand new and was still razor sharp, it got a quick clean and went right back in the quiver.
