An avid bowhunter and fly fisher. On active duty with the Army for the last 19 years, retiring in the next few years. Chris has spent his career on the east coast, middle east deserts, and a little time in Europe.
He currently serves as the Military Equal Opportunity Advisor and Command Climate Advisor for Rakkasans, 101st Airborne. “Trip” grew up fly fishing the Chattahoochee and other southern tailwaters. He picked up bowhunting in 2009 from military mentors and has since shared that passion with those around him.
He has worked with military and veterans for over a decade outside of work, first with Project Healing Waters starting up their Fayetteville/Fort Bragg Chapter with the Pechman Center, and later starting up a hunter mentorship program to share the joys of the outdoors with Soldiers who are interested.
Chris shoots 3D all year long and you can find him at all the Southern Total Archery Challenges. Not a fan of pina coladas but does get caught in the rain. Is married to an archer Holly (also a veteran and who claims to be a better shot) and has two kids (Owen and Rebecca) who join in on the passion of being outside.
Hunting with KuduPoint
First time using Kudu! I had previously used other fixed blade broadheads and was disappointed. This was due to weak blood trails, extreme cost, not wide enough, or damage incurred upon shooting. First time I shot with Kudu was in some brutally thick thorns and it was like a red brick road leading to the doe. I was hooked!! Right price, exceeded expectations, and has yet to let me down. Currently have a broadhead that has been through 11 animals and only shows a tiny nick!
Preferred broadhead: Contour+ 125 gn (right bevel)
