Born and raised in Brenham, Texas an hour northwest of Houston. Cattle and Ranching background and worked in many different trades including my own fencing company at one point and now I’m a Hunting Guide and Ranch Manager of a Hunting Operation in South Texas. My true passion is Hunting, Bowhunting especially. Killed my first deer at 8 years old and my first deer with a Bow at 15 and I’ve been hooked ever since. There’s nothing like coming to full draw on a deer and watching a complete pass through and watching one fall within sight. I’ve killed 30 plus deer with a Bow and I still get a rush even on a doe like it was my first time and it never gets old. It’s the purest form of hunting there is. My Favorite thing outside of Hunting for myself is Guiding, especially when one of my hunters is a first timer and never killed a Deer, Turkey, etc. To watch the joy on their face and expand this sport with people is truly a gift from God. I love helping people, as it says in scripture Proverbs 27:17 “Iron Sharpens Iron, just as one man sharpens another.”
Hunting with KuduPoint
Recently this year on the ranch I’m currently on we had tags left to fill and Cull Bucks to remove from the herd and the Owner gave me the green light to hunt for myself. I came to full draw on a 7.5 year old 6 point with less than desirable genetics at 25 yards quartering away and sent one straight through his heart with a KuduPoint 125 Contour Plus Left Bevel. I have to say as a testament to these outstanding broadheads that it was the easiest blood trail I’ve ever had to follow. He expired in under 50 yards and the broadhead was still RAZOR sharp.
